Dead of Winter

vixy_gogo There's something very intimate about these songs, I feel like I'm sitting in a room just me & Lydia and she's telling me her secret thoughts. I think "Settle Down" is my favorite, though Ocean Girl is almost a tie. I like Lydia's voice and the tunes are not super complicated but they are lovely and then sometimes there is a voice shift that is unexpected and really nice. Favorite track: Settle Down.

I've got a hundred daisy petals from my guesses of your thoughts I'd give you a penny but I couldn't keep up with the cost When you say my name my mind shuts down, my eyes look up, I can't look down I wish that I could say I'm good at this but my words will come around I don't know whether to go up or down or through oh I need nobody nowhere nothing but you When the sky is gray & I don't know what to do oh I need nobody nowhere nothing but you I used to read so many books with perfect lives and perfect love In each there was a happy ending for all, even the doves And I know that's not how real life works, real life is sad, real life is work But I still wish I could write a story with a happy ending for you I don't know whether to go up or down or through oh I need nobody nowhere nothing but you When the sky is gray & I don't know what to do oh I need nobody nowhere nothing but you My friend once said "love is a waltz for you" I'd dance with nobody nowhere nothing but you I don't know whether to go up or down or through oh I need nobody nowhere nothing but you When the sky is gray & I don't know what to do oh I need nobody nowhere nothing but you

it's 17 degrees when my fingers start to numb I'm walking home from the train feeling so dumb the song the winter sings promises an embrace the kind that spins you around and pricks your face and though the sky is gray and the city's gray my mind is warm and red with you we go to sleep each day tired of holding up the muscles that let me say hello to you, but under the streetlights' glow all is dashed with new snow a blanket much colder than the one you've sewn and though the sky is dark and the city's dark my mind is bright and happy with you I'm always kind of grasping at straws any excuse to say I'm not lost in the dead of winter all I need is you I'll come home again and miss you like you left to go round the world again in the dead of winter all I need is you you know I'd talk to you any time of the day I know your secrets & you don't let mine go astray in the dead of winter all I need is you and though the sky is lonely and the city's big and though I'm just a small girl I've got a lot to give in the dead of winter all I need is you

Ocean Girl 03:17
wade in the water she said don't be afraid of the sea's sandy bed one day you'll join it in your head but until then, just wade instead wade in the water, cross the sea walk amongst the sea life and find your way back to me wade in the water she said let the waves roll over your shoulders cross the rocky ceilings of boulders let the tide take her in and console her but until then, just grow older wade in the water, cross the sea walk amongst the sea life and find your way back to me wade in the water she said one day you'll see me again after love's gone and dead one day you'll kiss me again after love's released its grip and the sea rolls again

Settle Down 04:05
settle down, close your eyes settle down, now watch him grow settle down, water your eyes settle down, now watch him grow dark night skies bring his ghost you can still feel his fingertips and his cold bones close your eyes, rewatch him go open your mouth, sing to his ghost settle down, close your eyes settle down, now watch him grow settle down, water your eyes settle down, now watch him grow wipe your tears, ignore your mind let months go by and break your ties close your eyes, rewatch him go learn not to cry for his ghost settle down, close your eyes settle down, now watch him grow settle down, water your eyes settle down, now watch him grow settle down, become your own settle down, let that energy go settle down, unlearn his bones settle down, let that love go settle down, let that love go settle down, let that lover go
